How Does One Become a Volunteer?

"Making a difference, one person at a time"

Project Return is grateful for the support of its community-inspired tradition. Caring individuals, churches, foundations and corporations make it possible for transformation to happen in the lives of former offenders as they seek to navigate the often-difficult road to self-reliance back in the community.

The role of the volunteer is crucial and pivotal in the process that the ex-offender moves through once released from incarceration.  The newly released individual is much like a tightrope walker in a circus.  It is possible to struggle and make it to the other side alone, but how much safer and more secure it is to have a net and a lifeline to make the journey easier.

The volunteer force at Project Return provides the same type of safe haven and sense of security.  The chance of success is much enhanced if a person is able to relax and feel confident that there is someone who cares.

The volunteer fills a number of roles: sounding board, cheerleader, devil’s advocate, confidante, role model, mentor, advisor, and most importantly, friend.  Do these terms describe you?

Consider how you can get involved.  Whether giving of your time or financially, Project Return welcomes your support.
